This image was inspired by a painting created by artist Evelyn Rumsey Carey. Columbus City Councilwoman Elizabeth Brown is the model in this series and appropriately so. She is serving her first term as an elected official and she comes from a family filled with women dedicated to community and public service. She named her first child, Carolyn, after one of her grandmothers. Both of whom, coincidentally, were born in 1920 - the year the 19th Amendment was ratified. In addition to the broader concept, I wanted to capture a more personal connection linking the generations of women in Liz's family. So we incorporated items belonging to her grandmothers as well as her daughter into the various shots. In this photo, for example, she is wearing her grandmother's pearls. Ninety-six years after getting the right to vote, we may finally elect the first female president. This series is dedicated to those who came before us. Let us honor their sacrifices by casting our vote every chance we get. This image was inspired by a painting created by artist Evelyn Rumsey Carey. Columbus City Councilwoman Elizabeth Brown is the model in this series and appropriately so. She is serving her first term as an elected official and she comes from a family filled with women dedicated to community and public service. She named her first child, Carolyn, after one of her grandmothers. Both of whom, coincidentally, were born in 1920 - the year the 19th Amendment was ratified. In addition to the broader concept, I wanted to capture a more personal connection linking the generations of women in Liz's family. So we incorporated items belonging to her grandmothers as well as her daughter into the various shots. In this photo, for example, she is wearing her grandmother's pearls. Ninety-six years after getting the right to vote, we may finally elect the first female president. This series is dedicated to those who came before us. Let us honor their sacrifices by casting our vote every chance we get.
